Custom Projects We’re Working On: Seen in Action

There are a lot of great things about creating custom pieces, not least of which is seeing how businesses work to re-imagine their spaces to improve customer experiences. Recently, we worked on a few exciting projects for hotels which we’re happy to report have already seen success. We first introduced you to these projects in Custom Projects We’re Working On: A Peek Inside the Shop. They are now installed.

SIP SPLASH I WAS HAVING A BLAST

We recently created a custom bar to fit in a Wisconsin hotel’s waterpark area. This was a fun project to work on where we got to play with a lot of creative elements. An important feature for the hotel was that the bar could be portable, and we were able to achieve this through a modular design, breaking the bar into two separate and easily transportable pieces.

One of the modular pieces being moved. You can see the rich character of the wood, accented with a simple and elegant nautical ring.

One of the things we wanted to make sure of was to match the look of the new bar with the older, refined aesthetic of the hotel itself. We used reclaimed wood to get this look and added nautical symbols to the front to tie in the theme. The bar functions beyond aesthetic purposes, also.  The backend hosts the POS system as well as additional liquor and snack cabinets, offering additional storage while keeping the line of sight clean and uncluttered for relaxing pool-goers.

The bar allows easy access to back storage for bartenders while keeping the customer side looking like the holiday escape they came for.

We’re happy to report that already the bar has been put to good use and is making both the hotel and its customers happy.

SKIP THE MINI-FRIDGE— WE’VE GOT A WHOLE SNACK PANTRY

Des Moines-based Stoney Creek hotel recently decided to upgrade some of their underused space to a snack pantry. Trends and habits may change, but people will always need to eat. We worked with Stoney Creek to fit a pantry into an existing space, saving on time and money. The look compliments the rest of the hotel’s aesthetic beautifully and brings convenience to the guests who can now get everything they need in one convenient location.

When we work with a business of a project like this, we’re always glad to hear positive results. Within just a couple of months, the snack pantry has already earned Stony Creek roughly a quarter of the upfront cost back. We’re glad we were able to offer quick turnaround to help them repurpose space and jump on a new and successful market idea!
